Frequently asked questions
Not legal advice. The documents on this site are generated from general templates. They are a starting point, not legal advice, and they are not guaranteed to meet the laws that apply to your business. Have the final text reviewed by a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction before you publish it.
Is the policy generator really free? +
Yes. All five generators are free to use without an account. You can copy or download as many documents as you need.
Is this legal advice? +
No. The generator fills in general templates based on your answers. It cannot know every detail of your business or every law that applies to you. Treat the result as a draft and have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction before you publish it.
Do you store my answers? +
No. The documents are built in your browser from templates. Your answers are not sent to our server, not stored and not used to train anything. If you reload the page, the form starts over.
Will the generated policy make my site GDPR or CCPA compliant? +
No document can do that on its own. Compliance depends on what you actually do with data: consent, security, how you handle requests and more. A policy describes your practices; it must match them. The GDPR and CCPA sections are a starting point to discuss with a lawyer.
Can I edit the generated text? +
Yes, and you should. Copy it as HTML, Markdown or plain text, or download it, then adjust it so it describes your business accurately.
Do I need to link back to this site? +
No attribution is required. The template notice at the top of each document is there to remind you to get it reviewed; remove it once a lawyer has checked the text.
How often should I update my policies? +
Whenever your practices change: a new analytics tool, ad network, payment provider or a new type of data. It is also worth reviewing them at least once a year, because laws change too.
